Our Journey Through Time

Since our inception, Urban Pharmacy has aimed to improve community health, evolving alongside our clients’ needs and committing to provide exceptional service and reliable products.

Year 2008

Cliff and Oonagh McElhinney opened Urban Pharmacy on Dublin Road, establishing a friendly, expert community pharmacy in the heart of Belfast serving locals, students, and visitors every single day since then.

Year 2015

Sarah Bell joined our team while studying at Queen’s University Belfast and began her pre-registration journey with us shortly after. After completing her pre-registration year, Sarah registered as a pharmacist and became our full time Pharmacist

Year 2020

We provided frontline care throughout the COVID-19 pandemic—keeping our doors open, supplying essential medicines, and supporting vaccination and winter flu programmes.

Year 2025

Local pharmacist Brian Brolly took up the mantle as owner, building on the McElhinneys’ legacy and continuing to expand our services for the community.
